5.2.1 Part-Time Enrollment: Policy

Steps for the filing and processing of the Graduate Petition for Part-time Enrollment are described here.

  PROCESS STEPS RESPONSIBILITY
1. Complete the Graduate Petition for Part-time Enrollment and gather necessary signatures.  Student
2.

If requesting reduced enrollment because of a disability, contact the Stanford Office of Accessible Education (OAE) and request that they provide a supporting statement directly to the Office of the Registrar. 

Note: The student may not transmit the OAE statement; it must be transmitted directly by the OAE to the Registrar.

3. If an international student, confer with staff at the Bechtel International Center regarding visa status. Student
4.  Discuss the student’s academic plans, and, if approved, convey approval of the request by signing the Graduate Petition for Part-time Enrollment. Advisor and Degree Program
5.  Prior to the first day of the quarter for which the request is being made, submit the fully-signed petition to the Office of the Registrar at the Student Services Center. Student
6.  If approved, adjust the student’s tuition assessment as necessary. Registrar
